- EU Rule
- For members of the European Union, the beginning and end of Summer Time is set by
“Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 19 January 2001
on summer time arrangements,” which covers years from 2002 onwards.
According to the directive, Summer Time begins 1 am UTC on the last Sunday
in March, and ends at 1 am UTC on the last Sunday in October.
Many nations that are not members of the Union also
observe these dates.
