 Even as late as the 19th century, the sizes of the Portuguese units of liquid capacity varied by locality. To illustrate the range even within a small area, the chart below gives magnitudes for all the concelhos in a single district, the one containing, Lisbon. The metric equivalents were taken directly from an official publication of 1868. None of them were calculated by us, though we have deleted some trailing zeros.
