Romania
pre-metric units of mass

See also Romanian units of capacity and length.

Romania adopted the metric system by the laws of 15 September 1864 and 18 February 1875, making it compulsory after 1 January 1881. The government and large institutions were early adopters, but the old units continued to be used in small retail transactions for some years afterward.
