dalton. Accepted by the CIPM for use with SI units. In practice, Da usually occurs with an SI prefix, particularly kilo- or mega- (for describing the mass of large molecules), and nano- or pico-. Hence the symbols kDA, MDa, nDA and pDa respectively.
